The 4 Biblical Principles of Giving
Principle #1: Giving is to be a priority.
Proverbs 3:9 "Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops."
Principle #2: Giving is to be done proportionately. Malachi 3:10-“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,’ says the Lord Almighty, ‘and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it”.
Principle #3: Giving is to be done sacrificially. 2 Samuel 24:24 ”No, I insist on paying you for it. I will not sacrifice to the Lord my God burnt offerings that cost me nothing.”
Principle #4: Giving is to be done cheerfully.
2 Corinthians 9:7 tells us, "Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver "(NIV).
