Examining The Fruit
April 29 | Wednesday
Matthew 7:20 NIV
20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.
Exhortation
Fruit is the visible evidence of an invisible connection. Jesus teaches that a true relationship with
Him will produce a transformed life. This is not about perfection, but direction. Are you growing
in love, patience, and obedience? Or are you stagnant and unchanged? Spiritual fruit does not
come from appearance—it comes from authenticity. Testing our lives is not meant to condemn
us, but to awaken us.
God invites us to examine our hearts honestly. A fruitless life is not
something to ignore—it is something to address. True faith produces real change, and God
desires that fruit in you.
Reflection
Self-examination can be uncomfortable, but it is necessary for growth. Many people avoid it
because they fear what they might find. Yet God already knows your heart—and He invites you
to walk in truth, not denial. Reflect on your attitudes, actions, and priorities. Are they aligned
with Christ? Fruit grows over time, but there should be evidence of life. If something is missing,
it is not too late. God’s grace invites you to return, reconnect, and begin again. Testing leads not
to shame, but to transformation when surrendered to Him.
Life Application
Write down one area where you need spiritual growth (e.g., patience, forgiveness, humility).
Commit to intentionally surrendering that area to Christ this week and ask Him to produce fruit
in it.
Prayer
My Lord and Savior, search my heart and reveal what needs to change. Help me not to ignore
areas where I lack fruit. Transform me from the inside out. Produce in me a life that reflects Your
character and brings honor to Your name. Amen.
